Stretching the reading budget

If you are like me, you love to read.  I love physical books and e-books for loads of reasons (like waiting in the Doctor’s Office, I can read an e-book on my smart phone and not be bored).

So many books, so little budget?

No problem.

First and foremost – make use of your local library! Can’t get there ? Check online for your library’s website – you’ll be surprised at how tech savvy and customer service oriented they are – some allow you to borrow through the mail, some allow you to borrow e-books!

Second, if it is the next best seller you crave – try https://storycartel.com/ . Story Cartel is a way for new authors to share their e-books for free (well of course there is one tiny catch – you are asked to write a review – but that’s hardly any effort!)  You get to read a brand new book before the general public and review it and you get the e-book for free.  And guess what else? You can get it in .pdf or in Kindle or Nook format.  How great is that?

Of course there’s still Amazon, if you love free e-books. Free Kindle Books are changing all the time.  And you know you don’t have to own a Kindle to take advantage of these free e-books, right?  You just need an Amazon account and a pc or laptop or tablet to download the reading app to, and your good to go.

S-T-R-E-T-C-H your reading budget – look for free books!
