3 Steps to Functional Medicine Cabinets

This is a part of our homes we sometimes forget about – and it does get cluttered! This is a great article on how to de-clutter it!

Our medicine cabinets were once storage heaps to throw all of our medicine and toiletries. Now they are organized and functional spaces. Here are 3 steps to decluttering your medicine cabinets:

  1. Throw it out: Expired medicine – dispose of it (in the manner as instructed by the bottle or your pharmacist.) Also, check for expired makeup and nail polish. When you’ve had these items for a year or sometimes two, it’s time to replenish your stock. For example: You’ll notice the nail polish is separating and becoming goopy. Powder makeup will become cracked and difficult to apply.
  2. Make a plan: Decide what items you want to store in your medicine cabinet – that you use in your day-to-day routine. For example: My medicine cabinet includes nail polish and nail files, face wash, toothbrush and toothpaste, perfume, and makeup. If an item is not on your list, then find a new…
