If you are starting your process of downsizing, and don’t have the space for a yard sale (or have leftovers from a yard sale) – you might consider posting on Freecycle.org .
The Freecycle Network™ is made up of 5,300 groups with 9,146,710 members around the world, and next door to you. It’s a grassroots and entirely nonprofit movement of people who are giving (and getting) stuff for free in their own towns and neighborhoods. It’s all about reuse and keeping good stuff out of landfills. Each local group is moderated by local volunteers (them’s good people). Membership is free.
You can search to find your area, and then post what you have to give away – thus keeping good stuff out of landfills, and helping someone else who needs good stuff. Make sure your stuff is in good condition and clean and mention if there is any thing wrong with your items – like a lawn mower that needs repair.
Plus you get the added satisfaction of helping out someone in budgetary need (and most of us have been there a time or two).
